Growth Groups!

Sign up now for a Summer Growth Group!!!

At Ezra Church, we believe that life is a team sport – best done together! Growth Groups are a great way to meet new friends, grow in your relationship with God, and just have fun! That’s why groups are an integral part of what we do at Ezra Church!  We’ve decided to model ourselves after the first century church and have one large weekly gathering (Sunday) and gather in smaller contexts throughout the week (Growth Groups).

We have three semesters a year and each runs for 10 weeks.

If you have any questions regarding Growth Groups, please contact Pastor Erik at erik@ezrachurch.com

Summer 2012 Groups:

1.) Women’s Group.  Thursday nights.  Book study: Captivating by John and Staci Eldredge.
Every little girl has dreams of being swept up into a great adventure and of being the beautiful princess. Sadly, when women grow up, they are often swept up into a life filled merely with duty and demands.  Join us as we journey into the deep mysteries of our feminine souls in order to recapture our hearts.  You’re invited to take the risk of coming alive as a woman . . . God’s captivating woman.

2.) Men’s Group.  Thursday nights.  Bible study on the life of David.
King David was a deeply flawed man, yet he became one of the greatest leaders in history. His story reminds us that we are all imperfect and subject to tragic failure, but that God can still use us when we humbly and sincerely seek forgiveness. The Men of Character series highlights the lives of men in the Bible and demonstrates that we can still learn from their relationships – both with God and man.

3.) Volleyball and St. Paul.  Monday nights.  Bible study on the book of Ephesians.
Join us for some outdoor fun as we play sand volleyball, kickball, grill hotdogs, and study the book of Ephesians! In Ephesians, throughout its worship, prayers and instructions for living, Paul can’t contain his joy and amazement at the larger story of God’s plan to save us in Jesus the Messiah.  Discover how you can participate more fully in God’s kingdom!  All ages and both genders welcome!
Childcare provided.

4.) Dinner and a Movie.  Tuesday nights.  DVD and discussion.
Looking for fun, food, and fellowship?  This is the group for you!  Each week, our group will share a meal together and watch part of a Christian film and then engage in a discussion of the movie’s spiritual principles. All ages and both genders welcome!
Childcare provided.

5.) Teen Growth Group.  Wednesday nights.  Bible Study.
This group is for students age 12-18.  We’ll be hanging out, having fun, and helping students develop solid, Biblical truths as the foundation of their faith during one of the most influential stages of their life.  We’ll be learning how to read the Bible, pray, handle temptation, and build positive friendships.

6.) Madison College Group.  Thursday nights.  Bible Study.
This group will be playing some fun, outdoor games each week and studying some of the words from history’s greatest teacher- Jesus Christ.  Join us on the MATC campus to make some new friends and explore the claims and teachings of Jesus, the most controversial figure in the history of the world!  All ages and both genders welcome!

No Perfect People Allowed! (recap)

We just wrapped up our No Perfect People Allowed series. In this series we hit topics like forgiving, doubting, not needing to pretend, and finding your potential. We learned that God calls us into a relationship with him no matter how broken we are, no matter what area of our life needs work, and no matter what doubts we have. God wants us in his family to experience wholeness with Him. Check out the audio and video HERE.
